Deep within Marie Galante’s jungle, two silent creole Müller stills stand guard beside an overgrown warehouse. Rust cloaks their copper skins, spider webs thread hazy windows, and the heavy, humid air shimmers like a living curtain—thick with a leaden sloth that blurs the line between sleep and waking.
In the summer of 2012, a solitary Italian distiller conjured up a glowing spirit from long-fermented sugarcane juice and tucked it into an oak barrel deep in the legendary RVMG Warehouse, where thirteen tropical years of heat and damp created andl old style of rhum with smoky spice, honeyed sweetness, and a restless flintstone fire.
When this rare RRL cask was liberated - the oldest and only independent release so far - its complex aromatic oils—notes of mint, precious woods, overripe mangoes, and a wisp of ether—rose like a veiling mist, envelopping the senses. With the first sip, the world fades away into a fevered dream of rustling palms, distant drums, and Gwada's eternal heartbeat.
Awake, o Dreamer, for the rhum's call shall spark your soul to flame!
“The Sins – Sloth is the first single cask bottling from the Rhum Rhum Liberation distillery. The exceptionally long maturation period is also remarkable for “Agricole” rhums and gives Sloth an above-average complex cask influence – without the often-feared bitter or dull ageing notes. The rum presents a broad aromatic spectrum of fruits, herbs, spices, floral and ethereal elements. This makes Sloth not an everyday rhum, but a limited, craft-oriented special bottling that stands out both within Marie-Galante and in the global rhum context.
Anyone who enjoys deciphering a rum layer by layer is exactly right with The Sins – Sloth. World-class!
