Longrow Peated - 46%
Photo taken somewhere in Stuttgart
Nose
At the first breath we get a rubbery adhesive note, but in an interesting and pleasant way. On the second it's coastal and farm-y with white fruits, like having a burnt apple dipped into honey in a barn, which is standing next to the sea.
Palate
The farm character continues on the palate, with salted honey and a heavy body. There is also a grassy sweetness.
Finish
Long, mineral and salty. A slight dryness appears in the end.
Rating
What I really enjoy about this whisky and all the other Springbank expressions is their fantastic uniqueness! The edgy, farm-y, mineral character of their destillate really stands out. This NAS lacks a little bit of complexity on the palate, but has great price-performance ratio. Would be interesting to have it at cask strength once.
