Marcallan 18 Sherry Cask - 2018 - 43%

Photo taken somewhere in Stuttgart

Thanks to our japanese business partners we were able to open and try this legendary and highly sought after bottling this week. Collectors be thankful, we just reduced supply!

Nose

Gentle and sweet touches of dark fruits, as there are raisins, plums and dates. We also find some ripped orange zests in there, which is pleasant. Hazelnutcreme with some pieces of dark chocolate. Everything very subtile and well balanced.

Palate

Bittersweet entrance with old oranges, fresh wood and heated butter. The typical sherry sweetness of raisins and dates also appears after a while. Not too complex at the end of the day.

Finish

Medium long, with oranges and crushed almonds and hazelnuts.

Rating

It's a pretty and solid sherry dram. Not more and not less. What's inacceptable in our humble opinion is the strength. Even 5% more would give this flagship of Macallan massive buoyancy.
