According to greek philosophs the recipe to stay young forever is to open your horizon to new frontiers. So welcome to the first rum review on Whiskydigest dear maltheads (in truth, whisky is getting more and more expensive as you know).

Nose

Hail Mary, a devil just sprayed the content of a fresh opened paint bucket all over the scene. He also put some WD40, rotten bananas and mangos into it, mixed this tincture with a rusty iron pod and powdered grated lemon peels on top.Who created this? Baron Samedi? Even if we are far from Haiti, this is voodoo stuff waking the dead and making them dance. Brutal and hauntingly beautiful. In pure contrast to the extreme notes there are also delicate and pleasant, almost floral notes after some time in the glass. Chanel No5 with baked cookies, pastries and the darkest vanila pods. Sandelwood, new plastics and exotic spices.
With water: Suprisingly fresher. It beautifuly turns to herbal and greener notes of cucumber, lemon grass and Aloe Vera.

Palate

Come Mr. tally man, this liquid blows steam out of your ears and barbecues your tongue at the first sip! Sharp, thick and ultra dense grapefruit juice with a spoon of brown sugar invade the palate. More plastics and nail polish than on Zsa Zsa Gabor!
With water: The driest and sweetest banana and pineapple chips (those from last year at the very back of your supply cabinet), with cucumber peels and petrol residues. Behind all this cocoa bitterness.

Finish

Endless like the Nibelungen saga (Wagner would be proud) with all the lemons, grapefruits, plastics and petrol fumes you can imagine.

Rating

What a psychedelic trip. Highest risk of addiction (we warned you), which is mostly due to the huge and entertaining contrasts within this fantastic spirit. All the thrilling reviews/stories about the sorcerers from Worthy Park (and Hampden) and the Jamaican Funk are hereby confirmed. We also proclaim, this won't be the last Rum on this humble blog.
