The Virtues are not a continuation of THE SINS series.
They are the missing piece of the puzzle and are the yang to the yin of Dante's journey through the seven circles of hell. They complete the circle.
Seven unique casks symbolize the seven virtues from Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. These are CHARITY, KINDNESS, CHASTITY, PATIENCE, DILLIGENCE, TEMPERANCE, and HUMILITY.
Together with independent bottler Distilia, we traveled the rum world to explore the rarest and most unusual virtues for you. And we didn't come back empty-handed.
The Virtues are highly complex casks full of liveliness and vibrancy. Younger vintages, but representing the absolute spearhead of their category, only in a different, more vibrant style.
Virtue has a dark aftertaste
Each virtue symbolizes a story, a tragedy, a situation, in other words, a call to be more aware of one's fellow human beings and one's own emotional life.
Inspired by the mystique baroque art of old masters such as Caravaggio and Rembrandt, each cask selection is a work of art in itself, which I conceptualised together with designer Theresa Plos.
The selected spirits, in combination with the visual appearance of the bottle, are intended to lead to a consciousness-expanding experience. Combined with THE SINS, it becomes an event.
For me, the best rum in my life so far.
